HSK 1 Character Worksheet

Not all of HSK 1 is worth the same practice time. These nine carry the pronouns plus 是, 的, 不, 在 and 有 — the characters that appear in almost every sentence you will read at this level, so handwriting them until they are automatic pays back faster than working through the list alphabetically.

Characters (up to 20 — punctuation is ignored)

Try:

Pinyin (optional — one syllable per character, tone numbers OK: ni3 → nǐ)

Script style Grid Rows per character Tracing Boxes per row

In the print dialog choose A4 or Letter, portrait. Pick “Save as PDF” to keep a copy.

What is on this sheet
